Still It
Новая Зеландия
Добавлен 15 янв 2017
Still it is all about chasing the craft of home distillation and making it a legitimate hobby.
We discuss things like how to get into the hobby, recipes, techniques, safety procedures and controversial topics. Its not about any specific spirit. Vodka, whisky, whiskey, scotch, bourbon, gin, liqueur, rum and absinth I want to talk about it all. As long as its made with the intention of creating a high quality craft product.
Science and geekery is definitely not off limits. In fact I think its something to be celebrated and embraced. So lets get stuck in and see where it can help the world of distilling!
Most importantly Still It is about creating a platform to discuss ideas. Embracing a balance between open-minded optimism and skepticism. A place that celebrates new ideas but evaluates them based on fact and research.

I Made A 1800's French Absinthe To See If I Trip Balls
Просмотров 347 тыс.Месяц назад
I made a belle epoque Absinthe, A historic French absinthe popular between the mid-1800s and the early 1900s. There is a very interesting story behind its rise to popularity and its demonification. In a lot of ways its the time period that created the modern feelings of romance and mystique around absinthe. But that's probably not why you are here. You want to know if A historically accurate ab...

We Made The Worlds Strongest Hazy IPA: 69%

At 138 proof / 69% this is the world's strongest beer! Granted we did cheat with the distilling/fortification. But this turned out pretty dang good all things considered. At the very least its a solid concept that could be explored at much more reasonable alcohol levels. A huge thanks to @ClawhammerSupply for making the trip and helping me out! Tasting Everything 3 : Tasty Potential & Disappointment
i want some what ever its name is
There's a moment at 6:23 where you've accidentally kept in the "New Text Layer" text. Super interesting video, keep up the great work!
From what has been stated , most of the hallucinations people experienced came via being poisoned by cheap metals/parts used during distillation.
Well, guess I found my new rabbit hole.
This was deeply fascinating, and I very desperately hope you come back around to do that Russian imperial stout. Because delicious.
I think I heard something about people going blind during probation because of the led solider , be safe
is there a bathtub method?
Late to the party, but I nominate the name Juju!
I'd love to be able to distill my own liquor or moonshine. I'm glad I found you, gonna look through your videos, thank you sir! Nice Work!
Damn I suddenly got confused about where you live, because I thought only Canadians played crokinole!
instead of using white sugar, use brown sugar. :)
my friend and i made absinthe back when it was still illegal, with three times the thurjon and we were definitely feeling the lucid high we screamed like howler monkeys yet we were still able to operate the dvd player at least initially
FGS Shave
Do you know what happened to George? He came back made a few videos and haven't seen anything else from??
Thanks for using proper units of measure :)
I love your videos man! I live in a country where distilling or simply consuming alcohol can be a crime and is an act of resistance.. how to get your small distiller living in a socialist country with a cloed economy ? (no amazon, no payment to a foreign website possible). sorry for the drama ( make my own yeast, distillers, fermentation vessels, everything, it's the carthagenian empire but with modern technology)
Could use a branch from a green giant arbivitae, too .. that would really smack the flavor profile with a woodsy oldspice, manly flavor. Careful with Thuja as a terpene or other organic compound/acid/essential oil..... it can be toxic if concentrations are too high. But you'd really have to overdo it. Though it's possible if you substitute one thuja containing botanic for another and you are not aware when the new one is much higher in its natural occurrence of thuja. Oh... if you have some mostly dry shade space in the garden grow mountain mint. It has certain quality that you may enjoy
As far as i know thujone is real absinthe. You can't buy real absinthe in the US because it doesn't contain this essential ingredient. I have purchased the real deal online. Grön Opal made in Sweden. Traditional absinthe is green in color and should be leached with cool water sugar cube glass and spoon. Not in that order either. No tripping here but i will say the buzz isn't typical of any other alcoholic beverages. Absinthe is made with botanicals. Thujone, fennel, wormwood etc. Thanks.
Does this recipe utilize spent grains of plutonium or maybe some herbs from Chernoble? Your bottle in the video cover image is literally GLOWING! Wait... ... you're not related to Lex Luther, are you? Is that full of cryptonite? Are you bald under that? ... lol... Anyway, I just got introduced to your RUclips channel, and it sorta reminded me that I have always wanted to do this kinda thing... so. I'll keep watching to learn more and see how I can get started with some of the beginner stuff.
speed gin: live next to the liquor store
The Bottle-O may be quite a few km away. 😁
Krokodil in Canada 25:26
Thats the PICNIC protocol Error Jessie. 🙂👍

I had an issue running my six plated still. I couldn’t figure out why plates would never balance. Even asked you about it. I had the flipping down comers installed upside down on the plates. So it appears I’m a bigger Muppet than you are Jesse lol.😂
FYI red beets ARE NOT sugar beets.
Using the phone for "cut ins" is totally fine!
The high impedance air gap always gets me too 😂😅🤔
Have you tried turning on and off again? 😂
I added some oaw to my homemade cognac and it gave it a cloudy finish... I must have done smth wrong...
Thanks brother I think I'm going to drink a half gallon of that much love❤
The origin of Absinthe wasn’t just from France it was also from Switzerland too. Look up Absinthe in Wikipedia and you will see by “Country of Origin”: France, Switzerland Absinthe was created in the canton of Neuchâtel (that’s the French part of Switzerland) in the 18th century by the French physician Pierre Ordinaire (oh and as a Swiss Canadian, Switzerland has 4 different languages: Italian to the south, Swiss German in the north, French in the west, and a language called Rumantsch Grischun aka Romansh which is only spoken in one canton)
Instead of full out sour cream maybe try half Greek yogurt and or almond milk for a sweeten.
Now all you need is The Liberty Bong
😂😂😂😂
To error is human... Crap... The truth comes out....
Hi, i'm a artisanal professionnellal distiler in a vineyard. We use 4 stage bell cooper still during our second still, from 40(low wine) to 78%
very nice, ill have to try rum next time i get a still.
We use a Claw Hammer for the past 2 years! Thank you for the trouble shoot ! I will check that next time we have an issue . Also side note. Water doesn't add itself! Found this put when drinking too much and trying to brew!!😂😂😂😂
Yup, freedom is silly.
You have copper poisoning!!! It comes from your drinks!!! Please remove the copper condenser, no copper parts are allowed at the end of a still, cause the copper and the sulfur flushes in distillation process. Keep only the lower copper parts and get the stainless condenser
Ever think about making corn champagne because it has longer self life than beer 🌽🍾🌽🍺🌽🥃well corn is diverse 🌽🍺🌽🥃🌽🍾

What was the name of the game he was playing?
You NEED to make a "gin" with only the seasonings used to make ranch!
hmmm. maybe we can make a fast absinthe to make absinthe ranch
Didn't they used to put Laudanum in it?? ....you'd definitely trip sphericals with that stuff in it...🤣
I don't have a craft. I don't have a personality. I don't have close relationships.
I took a couple of bottles from Poland back to Canada in the 90s when it was illegal. 3 drinks in my buddy said "I shouldn't be fucked up". Mescal like drunk.
